What Our Volunteers Do
Front of Shop Roles: Be the Face of Kings Op Shop
Retail Assistant
As a Retail Assistant, you’ll engage directly with customers, assist with transactions, and help create a positive shopping experience. You’ll organise and display items, making sure that every visitor feels welcome and supported.
Merchandising
If you have an eye for design, this role is for you. Help us create attractive displays that catch customers’ attention and keep the shop stocked with beautiful products. Your work will help drive sales and create an inviting atmosphere.
Customer Service
As a Customer Service volunteer, you’ll be on the front lines, answering questions, guiding customers, and ensuring they leave with a smile. Your friendly assistance will foster a warm and welcoming shopping environment.
Cleaning
A clean, organised shop is key to creating a great experience for our customers. Help us maintain a tidy space by cleaning display areas, wiping down surfaces, and making sure everything looks spotless and inviting.
Back of Shop Roles: The “Engine Room” of Kings Op Shop
Donations Processor
Every item that reaches our shelves has been carefully sorted and processed. As a Donations Processor, you’ll help sort through donations, assess their quality, and price items so they’re ready for our customers to enjoy.
Ironing
Help make our clothing donations look their best by ensuring they are wrinkle-free and presentable. You’ll also play a role in quality control, ensuring that all items meet the high standards of Kings Op Shop.
Electrical Item Testing
From toasters to TVs, our electrical items need careful testing to ensure they are safe and in working order. You’ll be responsible for testing, cleaning, and tagging electrical items, making them ready for new homes.
Homeware Cleaning
You’ll clean and prepare donated homeware items like dishes, decor, and bric-a-brac, ensuring they’re ready to shine on our shelves and appeal to customers looking for unique finds.
